Bananas

Every chimp has their own style of eating this iconic fruit — some bite right in and eat the whole thing, peel and all, while others just eat the fruit. (Peel-connoisseurs even scavenge up those discarded peels!)

Peanut Butter

Peanut butter isn't just a tasty treat for the chimps — it's also a powerful source of protein that keeps them strong and healthy! Palm-oil free peanut butter is used in smear board enrichment, a chimp favorite!

Onions

Did you know chimps LOVE onions? It's true! Whether yellow, sweet, red, or green, these pungent veggies are always a hit! The chimps love them raw & crunchy & it’s always the first thing they look for in their lunch forage.

Nuts & Seeds

Whether peanuts, walnuts, pecans, or sunflower seeds, if you can name it, the chimps probably love it! These items are usually purchased for the chimps in the shell, allowing them to get all the goodies inside.

Grape Juice

Each day, the chimps get their juice which also contains any medications or supplements they may need. Some of the chimps here are quite picky and won't drink anything but the name brand stuff!

Chimpanzees are natural foragers, so while some meals are served directly, lunch is usually foods that can be scattered around the habitat or villas, helping to encourage their natural foraging instincts.
